Lina Ng first burst into Singapore’s acting scene in 1993 when she took part in Mediacorp’s talent search competition, Star Search. As one of the most popular participant Lina did not let her fans down and finished the competition as the 1st runner up. The bilingual actress has since played several roles throughout her career. Some of the more prominent roles are, a survival of World War II in, The Price of Peace, a tomboy in the most popular sitcom, The Right Frequency, a strict disciplinarian in Ch 5’s most highly rated series, Lion Mums 2, 3 & 4 and the most recent success, Last Madame where she played a Japanese spy who is also the loyal servant to her Singaporean mistress. She clinched “Best Actress In A Supporting Role” for both Asia Academy Creative Awards 2020 & Asia TV Awards 2021 for this role played.
Ng was nominated for Top 10/ Top 20 Most Popular Female Artistes from 1995 to 1998, 2019 & 2021. She clinched 3 awards with the latest win in 2019.
The award winning actress is equally successful as a host. She has hosted a variety of shows like lifestyle programmes, City Beat, and LIVE shows, Countdown, President Star Charity and National Day Parade 2001, etc.
